Features of a NaturePod

NaturePods are self-contained.

You do not need to have internet or cell service to use a NaturePod in the field.  Since most of our National Parks have spotty cell service and limited hot spots, NaturePods allows you to access the information you want when and where you want it.  So you can . . .

  • learn about the Elijah Oliver Family while standing on the front porch of their cabin in Cades Cove;EOteacherage
  • you can learn about the connection Thomas Jefferson had to White Oak Falls in Shenandoah while enjoying the spray at the foot of the falls;
  • you can learn about black bear nursing behavior while watching a cub feed;
  • and you can identify a flower when you find it and not have to wait until you get a cell signal.

NaturePods creates mp4 videos

to share with you the compelling stories of our National Parks.  If a picture is worth a thousand words, why not fill your podscasts with pictures.  We use archival photos to allow you a glimpse into the past and see our parks and the people who shaped them as they were.  We also use dozens of photos to help you identify and learn about wildflowers and learn more about the natural and cultural history of our parks.

NaturePods take Full Advantage of current Technology.

Change is the only constant, in technology, as in nature. In keeping pace with these changes,  NaturePods used to be available for iPods. Now, NaturePod programs are available as Apps for iPhones and iPod Touch through the iTunes Store.

National Park Approved.

NaturePods seek out the absolute best writers about each of our featured parks and natural history topics.  But then we run their scripts  past  experts with the National Park Service.  Not only are our narrations well written and compelling, but what we say has the approval of the NPS, so you know that you are getting accurate information.
